First Cadaveric Oath Ceremony

The Department of Anatomy hosted the 1st Cadaveric Oath Ceremony for the 1st Year MBBS Students (2024–2025 Batch) on 12th November 2024 in the Anatomy Dissection Hall. The event was organized to instill a sense of respect and gratitude among students towards the cadavers, which serve as their first teacher in medical education.

The program began with an introduction and welcome address by Dr Sangeetha K, who highlighted the significance of the occasion and its role in shaping the professional and ethical attitudes of budding doctors. The Dean cum Principal, Dr Gangadhar K S, delivered an insightful speech emphasizing the importance of Anatomy as the foundation of medical science and the pivotal role it plays in clinical practice. Following this, Dr Krishna Murthy V R, COH, underscored the invaluable contribution of cadavers to medical education. He encouraged the students to approach their studies with humility and respect for the individuals who donated their bodies for the advancement of medical knowledge. The highlight of the ceremony was the recitation of the Cadaveric Oath, led by Dr Nagashree M C, Professor and HOD of Anatomy. The oath reminded students of their ethical responsibility to honour the dignity of the cadaver while learning from it.

The event concluded with a collective sense of respect and commitment from the students, marking a significant milestone in their journey as future medical professionals.
