In response to the call from the IMA National Branch for a nationwide protest to condemn the heinous, inhumane, and disgraceful death of our professional colleague Dr. Moumita Debnath at KG Kar Medical College, Kolkata, a condolence cum protest meet was organized at BGS MCH Institution in association with IMA, Nelamangala Branch.
Key attendees included Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Member Secretary of IMA – Nelamangala Branch, alongside Dr. Thimmaraya Gowda, Dr. Rashmi, Dr. Naseer Abbas, Dr. Salma Abbas, Dr. Nanjundaswamy, Dr. Nagarathna, our Principal cum Dean Dr. K S Gangadhar, and Chief of Hospital Dr. Krishnamurthy V R. Dr. Rajendra Prasad addressed the gathering, highlighting the continuing struggle of the IMA with the government to protect the rights and interests of the medical fraternity and to ensure a safe and conducive working environment for doctors.
The assembly observed a minute of silence in respect for the departed soul, followed by discussions on actions to be taken by the IMA to safeguard and promote the lives and interests of doctors nationwide. Demonstrating solidarity with the protest, hospital management suspended all OPD services for the entire day.
